A cutling is a saved snippet — a piece of text or an image you want to keep handy for quick access. Think of it as a cutting from your clipboard that you can reuse anytime.
Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard, then select Cutling. Tap Cutling and enable “Allow Full Access.” You can also follow the setup guide inside the app.
Full Access allows the keyboard to read your saved cutlings from local storage so it can display them. Cutling does not use this permission to log keystrokes, access the internet, or transmit any data. Everything stays on your device.
Yes. Cutling collects zero data. No analytics, no tracking, no crash reports, no third-party SDKs. Your cutlings are stored locally on your device, or in your personal iCloud account if you choose to enable sync. The developer has no way to access your data.
When enabled, iCloud sync uses Apple's private CloudKit database to keep your cutlings in sync across your Apple devices. Only you can access your data through your Apple ID. The developer has no access to synced data. Sync is optional — you can disable it anytime in settings.
You can save up to 100 text cutlings and 25 image cutlings. Text cutlings support up to 2,000 characters each.
Yes. On Mac, Cutling lives in the menu bar and can be summoned anywhere with a global hotkey. Pick a cutling and it is pasted straight into the app you were using. With iCloud sync enabled, your cutlings stay consistent across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
No. Cutling is a one-time purchase. No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no ads. Pay once and own it forever.
Deleted cutlings move to a “Recently Deleted” folder where they're kept for 30 days. You can restore them during that period or let them expire automatically.
Download the Mac app from the download page. It is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it opens normally with no security warnings. Open the DMG and drag Cutling into your Applications folder.
Direct paste is optional. When you turn it on, choosing a cutling from the picker sends a single Command-V to the app you were using, so the text lands right at your cursor. macOS requires Accessibility permission to send that keystroke. It is off by default, and with it off, Cutling simply copies to the clipboard so you can paste manually.
